Painting of a streetscape

Front Street

2003.
Oil on Wood
36″x48″

This painting is an expressionistic take on Front Street in Monroe, Michigan. I used to drive this way many times at night and early in the morning. In the mornings the tall church steeples and smokestacks of the coal fired power plant would be silhouetted against the sky. Monroe is an historic, small mid-western town with a low skyline, so these were the biggest structures around.
